I have been working as an artist since graduating with a BA Hons Degree in Printed Textile Design from Glasgow School of Art in 1987.

I was born and brought up in Glasgow but now live and work in the Scottish Borders Town of Peebles.

After graduating in printed textiles I worked for many years as a freelance artist collaborating with architects and interior designers in Glasgow and London on commissions for commercial and private interiors.

In 1996 I started working part time as an art & design lecturer which later led me to develop workshops for schools and community groups: aimed at enhancing children’s experience and awareness of the arts.

In the last 12 years I’ve become more focused on my own art practice and taking my work in new directions and opening out to new audiences.

Although land bound my work is an exploration and expression of the coastal landscape. I visit remote and diverse coastal locations around Scotland spending time on self-directed residences studying and recording the landscape through mixed media.
